How to improve concrete pump management with FLEET?

The construction industry has stood out for adopting technologies that improve product quality and management efficiency. Fleet management software, especially Kartrak Fleet, was developed to make concrete pump operations simpler and more organized. In this article, we explain how this system improves the management of one of a project's most important assets.

Concrete pump management is fundamental to construction projects. It ensures delivery in the correct quality and quantity, prevents delays and helps meet schedules. However, engineers struggle to manage multiple services at the same time efficiently. That is why dedicated management tools become essential.

What concrete pumps are and their types

Concrete pumps speed up concreting, reduce labor requirements, make application easier and improve finishing quality. They work through two alternating pistons: while one fills, the other empties, pushing concrete through the discharge piping. There are different models, mounted on a truck chassis or towed as trailers, grouped into four categories.

Boom Pump (Bomba Lança)

Truck-mounted equipment with an articulated distributor boom made up of three or more arm sections. Brazilian pumps typically range from 28 to 43 meters, with the largest reaching 63 meters.

Trailer or Stationary Pump

Equipment without a distributor boom but with equivalent performance. It is towed to the site, where the tubing must be assembled. It is commonly used for buildings and low-ceiling warehouses.

Self-Mounted Pump (Auto Bomba)

A stationary pump mounted on a truck chassis, which eliminates the need for a separate towing vehicle.

Distribution Mast and Spider

Equipment installed with the help of a crane on the slabs of tall buildings, speeding up concrete distribution and reducing concreting time.

How Fleet improves concrete pump management

The Fleet platform centralizes pump information, fleet control and rental monitoring for drivers and administrators. It provides real-time reports and concreting process tracking, while managing preventive and corrective maintenance with automated alerts for the repairs needed.

Benefits of implementing Fleet

Implementing Fleet significantly reduces costs by preventing delays and failures that cause financial losses. Proper management extends equipment lifespan, reducing how often it must be replaced. Automation improves efficiency and time use through remote monitoring.

Advanced reports provide detailed information about the fleet, such as:

  • Equipment capacity
  • Discharge time
  • Pumping cost per cubic meter
  • Fuel consumption
  • Service hours

Implementing Kartrak Fleet considerably improves concrete pump management through cost advantages, data monitoring, security, control and detailed reporting. This creates more effective workflows for everyone involved and raises delivery quality. The system works both as an ERP and as comprehensive fleet management software.
