How does a concrete batching plant work?

The plants that dose and prepare concrete play an essential role in civil construction, supplying the material to build structures, roads and infrastructure. Behind them lies a complex process, from storing raw materials to delivering ready-mixed concrete.

The main stages

  • Storage: cement is kept in closed silos; aggregates in separate bays; and admixtures in tanks with containment.
  • Dosing: the amount of each material is measured precisely, and recording the dosing is required by ABNT standards.
  • Mixing: the plant transfers materials to the mixer truck, which blends them until reaching the needed homogeneity.
  • Transport: the mixer truck mixes and carries the concrete to the site.
  • Wheel loader: feeds the bins and scales with aggregates; it is the heart of the plant, since without it no concrete is produced.

Why choose plant-batched concrete

  • Quality: equipment and processes that ensure consistency and meet ABNT standards.
  • Efficiency: large-scale production is more economical than mixing concrete on site.
  • Meeting deadlines: large volumes supplied quickly.
  • Less waste: precise dosing reduces material loss.
